What do you enjoy most about working with MRCC?

From the first day I interviewed with MRCC I wanted to be a part of the growth, energy and excellence.  I am honored and privileged to work amongst some of the most intelligent, capable, hard-working, imaginative, genuinely caring people I have met in the Learning Industry. MRCC is first-rate when it comes to innovation, quality and client satisfaction.

What according to you is the USP of working at MRCC?

One of the things that enticed me to choose MRCC to work for, over other learning companies, was the tenure of the development team. Over 90% of our learning professionals, employees and contractors, have worked together for the last ten years. Like with any team, consider football, working with the same players year over year guarantees better teamwork, productivity, experience, and quality; all which contribute to win over win.

How do you keep a healthy work-life balance?

MRCC is a family friendly company and my management style goes hand in hand with that philosophy.  I have three children, ages 12, 11 and 8. This is a pivotal time in their growth and I want to be there to see them grow up. Too often you hear the regrets of executives who say they wish they had spent more time with their children. Cat Stevens says it best in his song, “Cat’s in the Cradle”.  Today I make time to attend soccer games, school concerts and attend to my children when they are ill. This does not mean I am not focused on work or my job, it means I work smarter.  I have the ability to work from home and do so during these times and also weekly on Thursdays and Fridays. Thursday morning I have a personal engagement and I go to it and don’t feel guilty or nervous I may lose my job. I offer the same to my employees for personal situations i.e. sick parents, children, animals, maintenance on the house, snow. Now, if someone is taking advantage or not doing their job these privileges are revoked, as they should be.  A healthy work-life balance, for me, is essential and something I am not willing to give up.

Tell us some hobbies you have outside of the office

When I am not working I enjoy watching my children play sports, swimming in the pool with them and taking them on nature walks. We all enjoy photography and snuggling up on the weekend to watch movies or play board games (yes, they do still exist). My husband and I always make time for each other whether it is attending someone playing the guitar, going to the movies or out to dinner. I am passionate about working with people who have mental illness or alcohol/drug struggles. Helping people to see their value, hope and gain confidence is an amazing feeling. One day at a time, we can all make a difference.

Anything else you’d like to add about MRCC?

Customers have many Learning Solutions companies to choose from to develop their customised modules, assessments and programs. In the short time I have been with MRCC I have experienced first-hand why large and small clients alike continually work with us. At the end of the day I believe MRCC’s “secret sauce” is INTEGRITY, QUALITY and RESPECT. Respect for each other, ourselves and most importantly our clients.”
